US Coast Guard District of Miami awards the crew of Shah Deniz

Fri Nov 08 10:09:57 CET 2013 arnekiel

Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District of Miami (Florida, USA) Rear Admiral J.H.Korn has sent his sincere appreciation to Aleksey Pchelintsev, Captain of M/V Shah Deniz (Palmali Group) for the assistance to the crewmembers of the Sailing Ship Moon Shadow in saving a person, Palmali Group says. On the afternoon of June 24, 2013, the Coast Guard Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) Miami received a report through Coast Guard Sector Miami of the S/V Moon Shadow, who reported a person on board had jumped overboard 11 nautical miles west of Cat Cay, Bahamas. The S/V Moon Shadow reported the person would not take life saving devices and was unwilling to re-embark the sailing vessel due to a domestic dispute.

Palmali’s aframax Shah Deniz collided with COSCO’s bulk carrier Ju Da

Tue Feb 07 17:11:57 CET 2012 odinfm

Tanker-aframax Shah Deniz collided with bulk carrier Ju Da on outer road of Novorossiysk port, Black sea, under unclear circumstances. Presumably vessels collided in severe weather conditions, with near-gale force northern wind of a local nature, called “bora”. Both vessels damaged, details unknown, one of the vessels lost lifeboat, but both tanker and bulk carrier didn’t get underwater holes, and judging from AIS, both are underway, fighting the storm some 10-15 nm off coastline near Novorossiysk, together with other vessels waiting outside the port for weather to cool down.
