Barge cut power line

Thu Aug 13 11:01:34 CEST 2015 Timsen

On Aug 12, 2015, the "Zander" (EU-No.: 04012740), whilst coming from Lübeck, allided with a higo voltage cable being bound for Mölln to load a cargo of rape. The accident happened on the Elbe-Lübeck-Canal because the mast of the ship was righted too early by a deckhand. The 11.000-V-cable was cut, causing a power failure in parts of Mölln and surrounding villages for one hour. The canal had to be closed for ship traffic during the repair work. The mast of the "Zander" broke. German report with photos: https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/schleswig-holstein/Moelln-Schiff-loest-Stromausfall-aus,moelln314.html
