Sank on Eregli Road after fire on board

Ukrainian general cargo vessel Yukka sank 2 miles off Eregli port, Turkey, Black sea, presumably on August 12, after fire on board. Fire broke out on August 9 2012, when vessel was 40 miles off Cide, Kastamonu district, Turkey, en route from Istanbul to Rostov-on-Don, Russia, loaded with general cargo, including glass, ceramics and textile dye. It is understood that 13 crew was evacuated and taken to Inebolu, 2 officer was slightly injured. Fire reportedly extinguished by Turkish Coast Guard, vessel was towed to Eregli Road and later sank there due to water ingress in engine room. Fire broke out on board of Ukrainian general cargo vessel Yukka on August 9 2012, when vessel was 40 miles off Cide, Kastamonu district, Turkey, en route from Istanbul to Rostov-on-Don, Russia. It is understood that 10 crew was evacuated and taken to Inebolu, 2 officer was slightly injured. Georgia releases Moldovian YUKKA from detention after paying fine

The captain of the "YUKKA" ship, flying the flag of the Moldavia and detained at Poti Port berth in Georgia, paid a fine imposed on him by Poti City Court. The vessel was detained in the port of Poti for polluting sea water, Georgian Border Police reported on Friday. A criminal case was filed against the captain of the Moldovan vessel, Ukrainian citizen Mykola Petrov in accordance with Article 58 of the Georgian Administrative Code. On July 12 the captain was fined by the Poti City Court in the amount of 65,000 lari ($1=1.65 lari) and 249 lari for environmental damage.
