Sudden sinking after yard stay
The "Yuan Tong" with a crew of 40, among them 20 Chinese, sank bow first off Zhoushan in East-China's Zhejiang Province, after having departed from the Longshan Shipyard for another berth on Mar 13, 2012, around 6:40 a.m. One man was recovered dead, and seven were still missing. 32 crew members have been rescued. An SAR operation was launched and is continuing. The cause of the sinking was still under investigation. The ship had moored at the yard on Mar 1.
