Container ships secured by tugs
In a severe storm with gale force winds, the Hong Kong flagged container m/v 'CSCL Mars', 151993 gt (IMO:9467287), was threatened to break lose from its berth at Container Terminal Tollerort in Hamburg due to the wind pressure and requested assistance on Dec 1, 2021. The tugs 'VB Perfect', 'VB Rasant', 'VB Resolut' and 'ZP Bulldog' attended and were pushing against the ships starboard side since several hours to keep it in position. The 'YM Evolution', which was berthed ahead at the quay, was secured by the tug 'VB Prompt' at its berth. It left the port on Dec 2 at 7 a.m., headed to Antwerp with an ETA as of Dec 3.
Yang Ming launches new ship for Middle East service
Taiwanese carrier Yang Ming announced yesterday that a newly-built 4,662teu box ship YM Evolution is to be deployed in its CGX Service (China–Gulf express).
