Crack repaired in Kalamata
The 'Cape Elise' suffered a crack in its hull by a grab working in No 4 S cargo hold during discharge operations at the port of Rouen on Nov 24, 2019. Temporary repairs were completed to class satisfaction, with details of repair requirements and scope of work sent to Kalamata in advance of the ship's arrival. The Port Authority in Kalamata detained the vessel until the hull was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness was issued. The ship left the port after the completion of a scheduled underwater cleaning and minor steel work repairs after a certification by the Class Surveyor in the afternoon of Dec 23.

Capesize bulker adrift in Atlantic
Enroute from Immingham to Hunterston the "Cape Elise" gotr disabled in the midday hours of Feb 1, 2014, and went adrift after an engine failure in position 52 07N 014 50W, odin.tc reports. According to the latest available AIS on Feb 2 the vessel was in position 52 34N 015 27W, 186 nautical miles west of Slea Head, Dingle.
