Trawler grounded off Ouddorp

Thu Oct 31 20:45:28 CET 2019 Timsen

On Oct 29, 2019 the 'Elisabeth - WR181', 75 gt, ran aground on the beach of Ouddorp. The crew of the KNRM lifeboat 'Antoinette' was called by the MRCC of the Dutch Coast Guard Center at 7.30 a.m. Subsequently, a towing connection was established and an attempt was made to pull the trawler off smoothly. As it was low tide, this proved to be impossible and it was decided to wait until the flood. Around 11 a.m. the skipper of the vessel reported that the ship was still banging heavily on the ground due to the increasing swell and had suffered water ingress. The 'Antoinette' returned to the grounding site and connected again to the trawler. After a while it managed to pull the ship off, so that it could be taken to the port of Stellendam. A diver was deployed to free the propeller from the fishing net that had got entangled in it. The 'Antoinette' was stood down around 3 p.m. Dutch report with photos: https://www.knrm.nl/nieuws/knrm-reddingstation-stellendam/viskotter-aan-de-grond-bij-ouddorp

Shrimper disabled on Eierlandse Ground

Sat Apr 15 18:10:17 CEST 2017 Timsen

The KNRM boat "Beursplein 5" of the KNRM station De Cocksdorp assisted the "Gerittje - WR 181" 120 gt (IMO: 9244025), in the morning of Apr 11, 2017, which had got in trouble on the Eierlandse Ground. The shrimper could not recover his fishing gear and was disabled in the Eierlandse Gat between Texel and Vlieland. The crew of the "Beursplein 5" helped the crew to pick up the gear. After that, the kotter could continue its voyage and headed back to Harlingen.

Grounding at Lengevelderslag

Tue May 19 10:42:18 CEST 2015 Timsen

The "Gerritje - WR 181" ran aground on a sand bar at Langevelderslag near Noordwijk in the midday hours of May 18, 2015 and remained stuck due to the decreasing water level. Around 4 p.m. the ship came off with own power with the rising tide. Probably the skipper did not remark the sand bar.
