Heaving rod damaged propeller

Mon May 20 12:15:55 CEST 2019 Timsen

Off the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern the Danish f/v "Line Charlotte‘ (MMSI: 219012607) was involved in an incident with the "Windcat 34" which was coming from Rostock and sailing on an Eastbound course in the morning of May 18, 2019. The ships got so close to each other due to bad visibility, that a 12-millimeter-thick steel hauling rod got entangled in the starboard propeller of the HSC. Also the net winch of the fishing vessel was damaged. The propeller was blocked and the shaft suffered damage. The ship managed to return to Rostock, while the "Line Charlotte" headed towards Gilleleje.

Windcat saved distressed skipper

Mon Sep 05 22:35:10 CEST 2016 Timsen

The "Windcraft 34" assisted in the rescue of the Skipper of the Motor boat "Bonita" which had been in collision with an obstruction 10 miles NW of Rügen on Sep 4, 2016. The man hat entered a life raft around 3.30 p.m. and taken aboard by the crew of the "Windcat 34" in spite of wave heights of two meters before the lifeboats "Harro Koebke" and "Kurt Hoffmann" arrived 15 minutes later. Due to the high swell the castaway remained aboard the ship and was taken to Barhöft. The "Bonita" was dewatered and taken aboard the Multi purpose ship "Arkona".
