Medevac off Cádiz
In the night of Nov 6, 2022, a medical emergency occurred aboard the 'Wind Star' which requested the evacuation of a passenger 15 milies soutwest of Cádiz. The CCS Cádiz of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR vessel 'Salvamar Suhail' to the ship, which medevaced the sick woman and transported her to Puerto América, where an ambulance was waiting. Medevac in Monemvasia
In the morning of June 22, 2019, the Monemvasia Port Authority was informed by the captain of the "Wind Star", that a 74-year-old passenger was in need of immediate hospital care. The ship sailed to the port of Monemvasia, where it dropped off the patient, who was then transported by an ambulance vehicle of the EKAB to the General Hospital of Lakonia for medical care.
Purchase of Windstar cruises completed
Xanterra Parks & Resorts completed the purchase of Windstar Cruises on Wednesday, May 25, after the sale of the assets of Ambassadors International, Inc. was approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on May 19, 2011. Windstar was Ambassadors’ principal operating unit, CruiseIndustryNews reports. Windstar Cruises, with headquarters based in Seattle, Wash., will sail all published 2011 and 2012 voyages, maintain its customer programs and policies and honor Windstar fares and reservations, including charter contracts.
