In the morning of May 1, 2012, the "Wilson Narvik" saved two shipwrecked German sailors about 550 nautical miles west of the Azores. The catamaran "blu:kat“ had encountered severe water ingress before, forcing the two to enter a life raft after having contacted relatives in Germany who alarmed the MRCC Bremen. This relayed the message to the MRCC Ponta Delgada. Short time later cmae the news that the two were rescued by the "Wilson Narvik" and underway to Algeciras on board the cargo vessel. The "blu:kat“ head been sailing from the Carribean Sea to Sevilla when getting in trouble.
