Collision in Emden port caused by engine blackout
In the afternoon of June 28, 2012, the "Wilson Caen" was in collision with the carog m/v "E-Ship 1", while appoaching its berth at the North Quay, coming from the Sea Lock and entering the Inner Port of Emden. The "Wilson Caen" which was coming from Rotterdam and had a pilot on board suffered a complete blackout directly off the quay so that a collision with the "E-Ship 1" which was berthed at the quay could not be avoided. Both ships suffered slight damage. The police Emden launched an investigation. After surveys the "Wilson Caen" was meanwhile allowed to sail again and headed for Rorvik on June 29 at 6.30 a.m., and the "E-Ship 1" departed bound for Les Escoumins on the day of the accident.
