William Shakespeare disabled ferry
The ferry Pannerden-Doornenburg will be out of opeation until at least Jan 25, 2015, after the collision with the "William Shakespeare" on Jan 10 which ran into the cable of the ferry which fouled the propeller of the ferry and caused an engine damage. Also the hull was damaged, and actually the Vahali Yard in Gendt is repairing the damage. Aösp a new permanent anchor for the ferry has to be placed on the river bottom, but this will take place only when the water level has dropped. A crane vessel of the towage company FBT from Druten will be used to put the anchor in place. Until then the ferry has to remain moored in Doornenburg.
