Allision with Schlei Bridge
On May 15, 2014, at 11.45 a.m. the "Wikinger Princess" allided with the tail of the Schlei Bridge in Kappeln. After the bridge operator had enabled the passage for the passenger m/v, a 28-m- sailing vessel retracted in spite of not being allowed to pass and took the right of way. In order to avoid a collision with the sailing ship the captain of the "Wikinger Princess" turned to starboard and allided with the bridge structure. No one was injured. The water police station Kappeln was to surveythe damage to the bridge and the passenger ship.
