Thu Nov 01 10:15:20 CET 2018 Timsen

On Oct 31, 2018, the "Wega II" suffered a damage to the rudder gear on the return from a charter trip to Fedderardersiel. The ship managed to approach the port entrance with emergency rudder where the lifeboat "Hermann Onken“ was ready to assist. She took the "Wega II" in tow and berthed the ship at 4.40 p.m. The 12 passengers were safely disembarked.

Disabled passenger ship towed to Fedderwardersiel

Fri Oct 19 09:26:27 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Wega II“ was disabled by a technical malfunction on Oct 18, 2018, at 2.35 p.m. in the Weser estuary about 30 kilometers off Bremerhaven. The ship went adrift with 53 passengers on board near the sandbank Tegeler Plate and requested assistance by the MRCC in Bremen. The lifeboat "Hermann Rudolf Meyer“ of the DGzRS station Bremerhaven and the "Hermann Onken" from Fedderwardersiel took the ship in tow and pulled it back to shore. The buoy layer "Nordergründe“, which was nearby, went on standby until the lifeboats had arrived. At 7 p.m. the "Wega II" was safely berthed in Fedderwardersiel where the passengers were disembarked. The cause of the damage was unclear to date. Passenger capacity will be doubled

Wed Oct 04 17:49:45 CEST 2017 Timsen

After a very successful season the "Wega II" will be enlengthed by a section of 4,8 meters during the yard stay in the winter break 2017/18 and will be able to accomodate 150 passengers then, thus more than doubling its actual capacity. The ship had been taken over by the Cassen Eils start of the year. The driving season of the "Wega II“ has been enlengthed too from end of October as usual to end of November.
