New building pushed by Waterlelie allided with bridge
On Aug 20, 2013, at 8 p.m. the Dutch cargo m/v new building "Arctic Dawn", 5465 gt (IMO 9671462) which was pushed by the "Waterlelie" on the Ij allided with the Schellingwouder Bridge which had to be temporarily closed to traffic. The top of the ship hit the bridge, causing that it could not close. The traffic from the Zeeburger Isle to the North and back had to be diverted. At 10 p.m. the bridge was closed and traffic was resmued. However, the bridge had shifted about one centimeter which also caused a problem with the lock. Tug allided with bridge
The "De Waterlelie" (EU-No.: 2315214), allided with the old Ijssel-Bridge in Zutphen on June 28, 2012, at 4.45 p.m. The bridge construction was severely damaged by the 17-m-tug which left the scene without reporting at once. Parts of the tail were torn and pilings destroyed. Rijkswaterstaat was informed about the damage only some time later by a passer-by. Before the bridge could be used again,an emergency repair had to be performed. In the morning of 29.6. the works were in full swing. The demolished tail was pulled from the water for this purpose.
