Fundraising for stranded crew

Fri Aug 14 10:55:07 CEST 2020 Timsen

For the 13 crew member of the 'Zeinabaldyn Tagiyev' which has been stationary since June 12 at the port of Venice after being seized by the Court of Venice to the bankruptcy of the shipowner, the Turkish company Palmali Deniz Cilik, the port authority has started a fundraising. After two months, the crew has run out of supplies and now risked having to stop the engines. The Port Authority has sent a letter to the Venetian port community to start fundraising for the crew. The 13 crew members, all from Azerbaijan, were showing physical and psychological discomfort due to the long stay at sea and the lack of communications, but the situation could even worsen due to the lack of food and fuel.
