Freighter towed to Kartal
The 'Von Adler', en route from Ceuta to Izmir, suffered engine failure in the Ionian Sea in vicinity 36 34 30 N, 16 00 00 E on July 12, 2020. The tug 'Horoz' (IMO: 7610830) has been tasked to tow the vessel to Izmir. On July 20 the ships were stationary in pos. 38° 48.28' N 026° 37.32' E. The tug 'Haktan 1' was appointed to tow the vessel from Izmir to Diliskelesi. The towage operation commenced on July 25. The 'Von Adler' dropped anchor at Kartal anchorage on July 29. A detailed damage survey was carried out by owner''s technical team, in the presence of class surveyors. Repairs were being conducted by shore-based technical teams. An appointed tug remanied on standby at the scene, as per port safety regulation. On Oct 4 thr repairs on the vessel have been completed. It was now to be shifted from the shipyard to the anchorage in Yalova, for sea trials and performance testing.
