Collision off Yeisk
The "Volzhskiy 47" was in collision with the St. Kitts-Nevis-flagged cargo m/v "Volga 4051" (IMO: 8720228), at 01.55 a.m. in the Taganrog Bay seven cables off the entrance buoy of Yeysk entrance fairway in the Azov Sea. The "Volga 4051" was maneuvering to approach the port, carrying 5,400 tons of coal from Istanbul, when she struck the outbound "Volzhskiy 47", which was headed from Yeisk to Trabzon, amidships at port side. Thee "Volga 4051" suffered bow damage 1,5 meters above the waterline, the "Volzhskiy 47 a fracture of the main deck of 3-4 meters length. 12 meters of railings suffered damage as well as the cargo hold No.3 cover. By May 5 both ships remained anchored off the port.

Four months after its last grounding, the "Volzhskiy 47" on October 7, 2010, ran aground on the Volga river at km-mark 1388 after it got out of the channel. The vessel was enroute Eisk – Chistopol with a cargo of grain. Around 6 p.m. the vessel was refloated with the help of the tug "OT-2461", no damages or spill reported. On June 10, 2010, at 02.47 a.m. the "Volzhskiy 47" ran aground off Ayvalik, Turkey, in the Aegean sea. The vessel had been proceeding in ballast to Ukraine or Russia, after offloading scrap. It suffered hull damage in the frames 18-25 area and water ingress in the ballast water tanks. The vessel rejected assistance and was trying to refloat by own means.
