Technical failure in Istanbul Strait
On April 4, 2020, the 'Volzhskiy-33', 4998 BRZ (gt, built 1990), while en route from Rostov-on-Don to Tekirdag, suffered a technical failure when it entered the Istanbul Strait from the northern entrance for transit. The ship moored at the Büyükdere anchorage at 8.30 p.m. where repairs were started by the crew. The vessel continued the voyage upon completion of the work, and it dropped anchor off Tekirdag in pos. 40° 58.14' N 027° 32.01' E on April 6 at 9.20 a.m.
Ship arrived at Burgas anchorage months after breakdown
The "Volzhskiy 33" which had suffered an engine breakdown and was stranded in Odessa since July 24, 2018, in poor condition, arrived at Nesebar on Sep 24 at noon. The ship was moored in pos. 42° 40.96' N 027° 48.57' E on Burgas anchorage.
M/V “VOLZHSKIY 33” refused access to the Paris MoU region for the second time
The above named vessel was detained in port of Rostov-on-Don (Russian Federation) on 29 May 2018. This is the fourth detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months. The ship flies the flag of Comoros which is black on the current Paris MoU WGB list. Therefore under the provisions of section 4 of the Paris MoU, Article 16 of EU Council Directive 2009/16/EC, the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MOU region, except a port and anchorage of the ship’s flag State. This refusal of access will become applicable immediately after the ship is authorized to leave this port and anchorage.
