Body of missing crew member recovered after two days search
After two days of intensive search operation, the Indian Coast Guard recovered the body of a crew member of the "Volvox Asia" three miles off the Pong Reef on Jan 1, 2019. In the morning of Jan 12, the Coast Guard received a distress message from the dredger that one of its crew members, Raj Kumar Mylapilli, who was a trainee deck officer, had fallen overboard while the vessel was dredging near Prongs Reef in Mumbai harbour. The Coast Guard diverted a fast patrol boat and an interceptor boat operating off Mumbai for the search of the missing mam. Air surveillance was also undertaken by the Indian Coast Guard helicopter from Shikra on Jan 12 and 13. The dead body of the man was finally located by the Coast Guard ship "Agrim" off Prong Reef on Jan 14 at 1:15 p.m. The body was recovered and has been handed over to the Mumbai Police for further formalities.
