Second ship for Ukrainian refugees berthed in Zaandam

Wed May 25 11:09:53 CEST 2022 Timsen

After the 'Lisabelle', which docked at the Havenst. in Zaandam on May 3, 2022, a second accomodation ship for Ukrainian regugees, the 'Cezanne', has also arrived and was moored alongside. The two ships together can accommodate approximately 260 people. Initially, the two ships were to be in different places, but after the commercial shipping had objected, it was decided to berth next to each other. An additional footbridge was constructed for this purpose. The two river cruise ships will remain in Zaandam for at least one year. After that, it can be extended. River cruise ships become accomodation for refugees

Mon May 02 11:11:59 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'Lisabelle' will dock at the Havenstraat in Zaandam on May 3, 2022, to receive refugees. As of May 1, the ship was berthed in Haarlem. The arrival of a second ship, the 'Cezanne', has been delayed by one to two weeks, however, the 'Lisabelle' has enough space to accommodate the people who are currently being accommodated in Taets. Because the reception in Taets is until May 1, refugees will be temporarily received in the sports hall of Wormer.
