Fire at yard in Zwartsluis
On Feb 22 at 12.03 p.m. a fire broke out aboard the "Vincent", 866 ts (EU-No.: 02312277), which was slipped up at the yard at the summer dike in Zwartsluis for repairs. The fire was caused by the heat of welding works in the engine room. The firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, but a large part of the ship was filled with smoke. With the aid of high pressure ventilator the smoke was blown out of the ship. New leak in the hull of the Vincent
The "Vincent" suffered another leakage in the morning of Nov 4, 2011, when being towed away from its temporary berth on the Spaarne in Haarlem while passing the Melk Bridge. The fire rescue was able to patch this new leak too. Next the cargo of sand will have to be lightered before the ship may be towed to a yard for repairs of the 90-cm-gash in the hull caused by an underwater obstruction which was temporarily patched by divers. Vincent sank in Haarlem
The "Vincent" carrying a full cargo of sand sank on the Spaarne in the center of Haarlem in the evening of Nov 3, 2011. The ship suffered water ingress, and the fire rescue Kennemerland which was alarmed at 8.15 p.m. was unable to dewater the ship. The ship is now half submerged, the crew was saved.
