Eidesvik vessel exits lay-up to work for offshore wind company

Siemens Wind Power has chartered Eidesvik Offshore’s subsea support vessel Acergy Viking for nine months to provide accommodation at project in Germany. This is the first contract Eidesvik has secured from a company in the offshore wind sector, the Oslo-listed vessel operator said. Crew of subsea vessel praised for rescue effort

The crew of the "Acergy Viking" was praised for good seamanship regarding the rescue operation for the crew of the trawler "Ramnfjord" in the morning of Apr 12, 2012, at Nordmøre. While the crew of seven abandoned ship, two of them had ended in the sea. They were picked up by a small rescue boat of the "Acergy Viking" in waves of three metres height. They were then examined by a medical aboard the vessel. The skipper of the lifeboat "Sundt Flyers" the rescue opeation of the "Acergy Viking" was fantastic regarding the difficult circumstances.
