Second allision within one week

On Jan 10, 2018, the "Vierwaldstättersee" allided with the a pillar of the Mosel bridge at Thörnich. The unloaded ship hit the left side pillar with its port side, only one week after alliding with a bridge at Schweich. The water police Trier detained the ship. Allision in Schweichen

On Jan 2, 2017, at 3.15 p.m. the "Vierwaldstättersee", 2509 ts (EU-No.: 06002943), allided with the Mosel bridge in Schweichen. The ship got off course in difficult conditions with strong currents due to the high water level and hit the lower part of the bridge with the starboard aft while sailing downstream, coming from Trier. The ship suffered considerable damage at starboard side, the damage was estimated to be several thousand Euro. Some concrete of the bridge broke off too.
