Collision in the Kattegat
The Læsø based f/v "Anna P- FN 126" was in collision with the "Harvest Sun", which was enroute from Sillamae to Cape Town, on Jan 14, 2017, at 5:10 p.m. in the Kattegat east of Læsø. The local lifeboat "Morten Stage" reached the heavily damaged f/v about half an hour after the distress message came in. The two crew members were saved by the f/v "Betina Kruse FN 81" without injuries. The "Morten Stage" took the "Anna P" in tow to Østerby while the pumps on board ran at full power and made sure that the ship remained afloat. The Maritime Investigation Division started investigating the collision between the two ships. The "Harvest Sun" anchored in Ålbæk Bay and has meanwhilke resumed the voyage, ETA Feb 5.
