Fishing vessel suffered water ingress off Florø
On Aug 30, 2017, at 4.30 a.m. the "Victoria May - SF 267-V", which had sailed from Peterhead on Aug 23, got disabled due to an engine damage and radioed a mayday call west of Florø. The MRCC in southern Norway sent out both a Sea King helicopter and athe offshore supply vessel "Ocean Alden". The latter took the casualty in tow towards Florø, but then the fishing boat started taking on water. The lifeboat "Halfdan Grieg" transferred a bilge pump on board, and the vessel was towed to sheltered waters. The lifeboat took over the further towage, and it was berthed at Gunhildvagen in Florø at 11 a.m. She left the port again on Aug 30 at 3.15 p.m. and arrived in Raudeberg on Aug 31 around noon where she was drydocked at the Stadyard AS for repairs. She left Raudeberg port again on Nov 2 at 12.30 p.m. bound for Peterhead.
