Canal closure victim sent to government reception
The "Vera Rambow" was unexpectedly diverted from its voyage Kotka-Rotterdam to the Norwegen Quay in Kiel on Apr 8, 2013, at 7 p.m. where members of the German Government attended the Annual Maritime Conference at that time. The company Unifeeder was one of the victims of the closures of the Brunsbüttel locks of the Kiel Canal due to the lack of maintenance, and the responsible German traffic minister Ramsauer was present at the reception in the terminal building. The survey ship "Alkor" and the German corvette "Erfurt" which would according to plan have paraded as a back drop for the reception in the Norwegen Quay had to remain berthed at the quay. The demonstration ended around 8 p.m. and the ship finally headed for the Kiel Canal. Photos: http://forum-schiff.de/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1377#p88112
