Technical trouble in Piraeus
On the afternoon of Sep 21, the Port Authority of Argosaronicos was informed by the Master of the ‘Flying Dolphin Venus 1’, that after berthing at the port of Piraeus, the port side axle suffered technical trouble. The ship had a scheduled itinerary for the ports of Aegina and Agistrio with 56 passengers on board. It was banned from sailing by the Port of Argosaronicos, until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification. The passengers were forwarded to their destination by the company.
Ship under repair after bow issue
On the afternoon of Sep 14, the Port Authority of Aegina was informed by the Master of the 'Venus 1', that a loud noise was detected in the port side bow area of the ship, while it was sailing from the port of Agistrio to the port of Aegina. The ship sailed safely to the port of Aegina. The Port Authority of Aegina initially prohibited the sailing of the hydrofoil, until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the classifier monitoring it, and then it was granted a license to carry out a single voyage,without cargo and passengers, for the repair base in Perama. The 41 passengers bound for Piraeus were forwarded by the owner company.
Main engine trouble after yard maintenance
The Port Authority of Perama was informed in the evening of Sep 11, 2023, by the Master of the 'Flying Dolphin Venus I", that en route from Perama to Agistri following a maintenance, a malfunction was found in the port side main engine before starting the scheduled route from the port of Agistrio to the ports of Aegina and Piraeus. The Perama Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus prohibited the ship from sailing, until the damage was repaired. The affected passengers were informed by the ship's owning company.
