Medevac off Hartlepool
Hartlepool RNLI volunteers were paged by the Humber Coastguard on Aug 3, 2020, at 5.55 p.m. to assist a male who had suffered an illness on board the 'Betagas' that was moored three miles off Hartlepool. The all weather lifeboat ‘Betty Huntbatch’ and volunteer crew launched at 6.15 p.m. and were alongside the vessel at 6.30 p.m. Four crewmembers were placed aboard the ship where two of the crew administered casualty care to the victim. A Coastguard helicopter arrived at 6.46 p.m. and lowered a crewmember to assist with the casualty and and then winch the casualty from the ship and take him to hospital.
