Medevac in Ellesmere
A man who suffered a heart attack aboard the 'Varkan EgeÄ o nFeb 27, 2021, was rescued and taken to hospital. Around 5 p.m. the North West Ambulance Servicewas called to the ship docked at Ellesmere Port. Two ambulances, an advanced paramedic and a hazardous response team attended the scene. However, at around 5.30 p.m., the firefighters were called to help rescue the man was around 20 metres high on the ship. Three fire engines attended the incident, one from Lymm, one from Ellesmere Port and one from Chester along with the aerial platform which they used to rescue the man. Chester's ALP and E09P2 appliance, attended a cardiac arrest on the top deck of the ship, in conjunction with Ellesmere Port's E08P1 crew and NWAS Hart team. The patient was was then passed into the care of paramedics. The tanker left the port enroute to Eastham on Feb 28.
