Fire on barge in Zwartsluis

On July 24, 2017, around midday, a fire broka out aboard the "Samara", 1192 ts (EU-No.: 02319100), in a yard at Het Bosch in Zwartsluis. The fire brigades from Zwartsluis and Hasselt and got the fire soon under control. The fire broke out during work with a burner inside the foreship, causing some cables and a battery to melt, which was followed by a short circuit. A considerable amount of smoke was released, making it impossible for the yard workers to extinguish the fire themselves. After the vessel was ventilated, measurements were made regarding the presence of hazardous substances. Soon after the repair coud be continued. No one was injured.
