FSG delivers its biggest-ever RoRo newbuilding
Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) on Dec. 6, 2012 handed over the 208 metre-long RoRo ferry “Ulusoy 14” (Hull No. 753) to the Turkish shipping company Ulusoy Sealines. She is the biggest and longest ferry ever delivered by FSG. “We are delighted that with Hull No. 753 we have been able to set a further milestone in the history of our shipyard” said FSG Managing Director Peter Sierk. Ulusoy Sealines plans to operate the new ship on the Cesme-Trieste route where two newbuildings from Flensburg will replace four older ferries. They will offer almost the same freighting capacity but with significantly lower fuel consumption and considerably lower waste gas emission levels. “Ulusoy 14” and her sistership “Ulusoy 15” each have space for 283 trailers and boast 4,094 lane metres.
Longest ferry delivered
The "Ulusoy-14" was finally delivered to the Ulusoy Sealines on Dec 6 by the Flensburger Schiffbaugesellschaft. It will soon enter service on the route Cesme - Trieste and is the longest ferry the yard ever built.
