Uisko in Nådendal for repairs after salvage
The "Uisko" which had run aground off Hangö was pulled off by the surveillance vessels "Tursas" and "Merikarhu" along with Coast Guard patrol boats from Hitis and Hanko on July9 at 11 p.m. The tanks were emptied before the ship pulled away from the shoal. The area around the ship was The "Uisko" dropped anchor at the scene of the accident until it was sure that there was no oil leak from the ship and, following a Survey by divers, sent to a yard in Nådendal where it was expected on July 11. Coastguard aground
The "Uisko" ran aground on rocks west of Hängö on July8, 2013. Divers surveyed the ship after the accident. There was Little damage, but it was not yet known if the ship would be back in service on July 9.
Uisko saved passengers from grounded Nordep
The "Uisko" saved 13 passengers of the Finnish ferry "Nordep", 91 gt (CS:LALF; built 1987), which had run aground on May 26, 2013, at 3.33 p.m. off Nagu island in Lölholm. The ship had on board 16 passengers and two crew members. No one was injured. The m/v "Fulmar"took off five of the passengers. They were taken to Kirjais Nagu. Divers caried out an inspection of the hull. No leakage observed. Further actions were to be determined jointly with the authorities. The traffic on the Nagu southern route was taken over by the commuter ferry "Myrskylintu". The Coast Guard vessel "Uisko", members of the Nagu Coastguard station and a patrol from the Coastguard station in Hitis were sent to the grounding site. Also a Super Puma rescue helicopter was put on standby. The cause of the grounding was not yet known, and investigations were continuing. Drug testings were negative. A salvage tug was expected on scene on May 27 at 6 p.m. The "Nordep" is owned by the JS Ferryway Ltd Oy in Houtskär and had started operating again only in early May after a repair of several months due to a fire that occurred in the engine room in January.
