Ferry suffered exhaust leak
The Torghatten Nord AS had to withdraw the "Tysfjord" on June 27, 2018, from the Melbu – Fiskebøl service after she suffered an exhaust leak. She was repaired at the dock in Melbu and was expected back on schedule on June 28.
Disabled ferry towed to port
In the morning of Nov 9, 2015, the "Tysfjord" suffered engine trouble off Kalvøy while being enroute from Melbu to Fiskebøl. The ship had on board 16 passengers and a crew of seven. After the main engine conked out, the ferry was in danger of running aground timewise, and an evacuation was considered. The lifeboat "Sundt Flyer" came to assist as well as two boats of Norlense and two of Nordlaks. Finally the drift of the ferry could be stopped by dropping anchor. A tug of Norlense in Fiskebøl took the disabled ship in tow to Fiskebøl, assisted by the MOB boat of the ferry. Once the ship was docked, the loaded vehicles and passengers were disembarked.
