River cruise ship sank work boat
On Dec 5, 2016, the work boat "Alison" sank after a collision with the "Typhoon Clipper" off Tower Pier on the River Thames. Both ships were using the pier at the time of the accident. The two people on board the work boat were uninjured and were rescued by the "Typhoon Clipper" crew. The "Alison", which is owned by Crown River Cruises and is used by the company for inspection work, was recovered on Dec 6 by the Port of London Authority. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) launched an investigation into the collision, the Port of London Authority also confirmed that as part of normal procedure, it will carry out its own investigation into the accident.
