A steerless passenger ship on the Main-Danube Canal in Bavaria has caused alarm to the police on Sunday evening. Perhaps unknown people had resolved the lines of "Altmühlperle" at her berth at Riedenburg of Kelheim, when neither passengers nor crew were on board, police said. A man could enter the boat when the stern drive back to shore. With another person he succeeded in holding the boat with lines to the shore. The approaching Rivercruiser "TUI Melodia" with 42 man crew was able to stop in time because the captain was warned by light signals and recognized the transverse vessel on his radar. Whether the "Altmühlperle" is damaged was initially unclear. The traffic on the channel was disabled for about 20 minutes.
