Greenpeace blocked Jan Maria off Ijmuiden

Fri May 24 18:03:40 CEST 2013 Timsen

Greenpeace activists on May 23, 2013, have prevented the "Jan Maria" from docking in the port of IJmuiden. The ship made after several dangerous maneuvers and finally turned back when it was confronted with three boats of the activists of Greenpeace who suspect illegal fishdumping. The ship moved on to the quay of Daalimpex in Velsen-North. According to the owner, the blockade by Greenpeace caused only a few hours delay. Attaching a large banner on the hull was unsuccessful and an activist fell into the sea. He could be saved, but Parlevliet called it an irresponsible action.
