Vessel detained due to defiencies
Upon entering the Kiel Canal locks in Brunsbüttel on Apr 2, 2016, at 7.30 p.m., the Hanoi" was detained due to several defiencies during a control. The pilot had alerted the traffic control due to doubts regarding a safe transit of the Kiel Canal. The ship was moored at the railway station pilings in Brunsbüttel then and left the port on Apr 6 under tow of the "Taucher Wulf 8" bound to the Mützelfeldt Yard in Cuxhaven for repairs.
Repairs in Husum completed
The "Hanoi" left the Husum Shipyard after extensive repairs again pon Dec 13 at 8 a.m. being bound for Nakskov as first port of call after the grounding accident. It berthed at the West Quay on Dec 14 shoort past noon.
Cargo ship significantly damaged in grounding
In the evening of Nov 25, 2014, the "Hanoi", coming from Hvide Sande, ran onto the embankment of the conjunction of the Rethe and the Neuhöfer Canal in Hamburg in dense fog on Nov 25, 2014. The ship ran onto a tip with a sheet piling with concrete ring around it. The stem of the vessel was damaged, the hull pressed on the starboard side in the region of the forecastle on a length of about 4 meters and on the port side on a length of about 3 meters. In addition a crack of about 50 cm x 15 cm was created, and the ship suffered water ingress on starboard side. The ship's own pumps could cope with the flooding. Also the sheet piling suffered damage. The vessel was arrested by the police and berthed at warehouse 71/72 at the Auguste Victoria Quay in the Kaiser Wilhelm-Port on Nov 26. SHe left the port of Hamburg on Nov 28 at 1.45 p.m. bound for the Husum Shipyard for repairs. The ship entered the yard on Nov 29 at 5 a.m.
