Disabled ferry towed to port

Tue Feb 11 09:20:08 CET 2020 Timsen

The 'Tranen', enroute from Sunnhordland to Bergen, experienced technical problems outside Austevoll in the afternoon of Feb 9. 2020. The vessel with 77 passengers on board encountered a problem with a propeller and was disabled, watiing for assistance. The ship was taken in tow by the 'Tjelden' and pulled to Bekkjarvik in Austevoll. The passengers were picked up by the 'Fjordbris' and transported to Bergen in the night. The southern bound route was also delayed for one hour due to the assistance of the 'Tjelden'. The 'Tranen' was sidelined in Leirvik to find out the cause of the technical failure. Woman overboard found safe and sound

Mon Jun 06 21:38:19 CEST 2011 Timsen

A woman was reported missing from the "Tranen" in the afternoon of June 6, 2011, in Sunnhordland, but was found safe and sound in the sea. The ship sailed between Sunde, Ranavik, Ølen and Rogaland at that time. The woman was found by German tourists who were on a fishing tour in a boat. They heard her cry for help, picked her up and took her to the shore. The 40-year-old woman had boarded the ferry in Sunde and was reported missing when the boat arrived at Ølen. The woman's luggage was left on the boat when it arrived in Ølen, and alarm was raised at 1.38 p.m. The ferry had called in Skånevik before it reached Ølen, and therefore it was first uncertain whether the woman had fallen overboard or if she had gone ashore. In fact she had fallen over board.
