Fire in Dunkerque
Near the Total refinery in Mardyck, Dunkerque, a fire broke out on Feb 24, 2021, at 1.30 a.m. in the living quarters of the 'Torm Louise', which was carrying a cargo of refined oil and had berthed at the tanker pier short past midnight enroute from IJmuiden. Luckily it did not spread to the cargo. Following a large scale fire alert two large ladders, four fire trucks, 50 firefighters, a unit specializing in long-term exploration and fire boats of the SDIS 59 (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service for the North) were mobilized. The fire could be brought under control quickly using a water lance.
Tanker suffered fuel pump issue
The "Torm Louise", en route from Amsterdam to Bantry Bay, Ireland, with á crew of 23 on board, suffered an engine fuel pump issue, in position 050 28 21 N, 000 12 42 W, on Jan 21, 2019, at 12.30 p.m. The repairs were estimated to take two hours. The vessel then resumed its voyage with an ETA in Bantry Bay as of Jan 23, 11.30 a.m.
Tanker stuck in Kiel Canal due to windlass failure
After the grounding of the cargo m/v "Louise Auerbach" on the Kiel-Canal at the Levensau Bridge on Jan 6, 2019, at 1 p.m. the "Torm Louise" had to stop at the ferry pt. Landwehr until the canal traffic was released again at 3 p.m. When the anchor was to be raised, the tanker suffered a windlass failure. The anchor could only be recovered after a repair was carried out. The ship berthed at the Bominflot-bunker station in Kiel-Projensdorf on Jan 7 at 10 a.m.
