Torgtind broke from its moorings
The "Torgtind" which is operating on the route Igerøy-Horn broke lose from its moorings at Igerøy on 2 a.m. on Dec 10, 2011, due to strong wind. The ferry drifted about 100 meters before it became stuck on the rocks of the breakwater at Igerøy. The ferry was pulled off by the lifeboats "Harald V" and "UNI Helgeland" with the high tide at 10.05 a.m. and made its way back to the ferry terminal in Igerøy. The rescue company was asked to assist with a diver to go down and investigate the hull closer. For the meantime the replacement ferry "Ramtind" was called. The port side of the "Torgtind" had suffered damage which will have to be repaired in a yard. The crew of five was not injured.
