Bow thruster fouled by nets
In gale force winds the "Ringbas" was disabled by fishing nets which fouled the propeller in the Solheim Fjord south of Florø in the night of Oct 17, 2011. A rescue diver of the lifeboat "Kristian Gerhard Jebsen" cleared the propeller within six hours after the ship was alarmed at 6:55 p.m. It immediately sailed from Maloy and arrived at the casualty at 8:15 p.m. At this time the seiner was only a few meters from the ground west of Østre Furusund. The lifeboat was able to take the vessel in tow to Florø but due to the strong winds altered the course towards the main port of Gunhildsvågen. The diver then found the bow thruster was full of nets.
