Boarding attempt aborted at Callao

Thu Mar 28 19:38:19 CET 2019 Timsen

The "Tongala" was approached by a boat with four robbers on-board, in position 12 01 66 S, 077 12 03 W, at the Callao anchorage, Peru, on March 19, 2019, at 7 a.m. The duty crew on routine rounds noticed the robbers attempting to board the vessel through the anchor cable. Subsequently, the alarm was raised, the ship's horn sounded, and the crew directed flash lights towards the robbers. The robbers aborted the attempted boarding and escaped. A patrol boat was dispatched to search the anchorage area.
