Guard ship disabled in Greenland
En route from Aasiaat to Rod Bay, ETA June 24, 2018, the "Togo" was disabled and threatened to run onto rocks in Qeqertarsuaq in Greenland waters on July 1. The inspection vessel "Lauge Koch" and the Royal Arctic Line vessel "Mary Arctica" which was close to the "Togo" assisted in dragging the ship away from rocks. The tow broke several times, and the "Mary Arctica" could not help further so that the "Togo" was emergency anchored. The "Lauge Koch" was northwest of Sisimiut and immediately interrupted its voyage. After an investigation of the engine it was clear that it was not possible to repair the damage and the vessel had to be towed to a shipyard at Aasiaat. The waters where the "Togo" had been anchored were poorly measured and filled with slicing, which made the towage complicated. The waters were measured before the "Lauge Koch" started the tow.Six hours later, the "Togo" was safely anchored next to Aasiaat.
