Ship still stuck at grounding site
Two days after the spectacular allision of the 'Tina 1' with the Iranian container m/v 'Shahraz' (IMO: 9349576), in position 01°11'213"N/103°52'797" E in the Strait of Singapore on Nov 22 at 10:37 p.m. both ships remained firmly aground side by side at Samba Island. On Nov 25 a leak was remarked on the freighter and almost fully loaded with 4,096 TEU and a weight of 57,164 tonnes. It had struck the port side stern of the 'Shahraz' with starboard side. After the accident, the two patrol boats KN 'Sarotama - P 112' and KN 'Rantos - P.210' were deployed to secure the scene of the accident. The Indonesian tug Sta 1 ‘(IMO: 9649158) and the Cook Islands flag tug‘ SSE Adira ‘(MMSI: 518100754) were also on site. In addition, the Indonesian National Police sent a boat for surveillance. It was not ruled out that the Polish captain Krzystor Bogdan had become disorientated in the strait with its intense ship traffic. Container ship crashed into grounded vessel
In the night of Nov 22, 2020, short before midgnight, the container m/v 'Tina 1', which had sailed from the Pasir Panjang-Terminal in Singapore at 11 p.m. headed to Jakarta, crashed into the stern of the 'Shahraz' in the Strait of Singapore and got stuck with a list to port side in the same position at its stern in pos. 01° 11.21' N 103° 52.82' E. The 'Shahraz' had run aground south of St John Island on May 10 en route from Port Klang to Yangshan. The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation dispatched two patrol boats were to carry out surveillance and security to the scene.
