On Jan 5, 2018, around 6 p.m. the "Tigris", 2728 ts (EU-No.: 2321483), coming from Millingen to Cologne, allided with the lifting bridge in the port of Neuss, because it was lowered too early and the master could not stop the ship in time. The wheelhouse was torn off when it hit the bridge. The dinghy and parts of the wheelhouse were torn into the water. Flying glass splinters slightly injured the eight-year-old son of the skipper. Two cars which were stored behind the wheelhouse were also damage, as well as the bridge itslef. After about an hour of closure for rail and shipping traffic, trains and ships were allowed to pass the accident site again. With a special permit, another barge towed the damaged "Tigris" to Niehl near Cologne where the cargo was unloaded. The amount of damage was estimated to be about 300,000 Euros.
