Tanker suffered engine fuel pump failure
The 'Trans Holm', en route from Eastham to Barcelona with 16 crew members on board suffered a main engine fuel pump failure in position 51 43 02 N, 006 07 57 W, about 36 miles west of St. Ann's Head, on Jan 8, 2020, at 2.40 a.m. Initially, the issue was rectified for the vessel to clear the TSS. According to the Coastguard, the new estimated time for changing the pump was between four and six hours. Also, the vessel requested to reinstate security broadcast and the Falmouth Coastguard to ensure safe passage through UK waters after completion of repairs. The crew finally rectified the issue at 1.50 p.m. and was continuing its voyage. The vessel was monitored on its way by the Milford Haven Coastguard and then by the Falmouth Coastguard to ensure its safe passage through UK waters.
Engine trouble in the North Sea
The "Trans Holm" suffered engine problems in position 50 22 12 N, 000 41 06 W, on Jan 17, 2019. The crew of the vessel resolved the issues and the tanker was underway again at 7 a.m. It had sailed from Antwerp on Jan 16 and was bound to Tarragona, ETA Jan 22.
