Fire on trawler off Goeree
In the evening of Dec 11, 2018, the "Dirkje - TH 102 caught fire nine miles off Goeree. The fire started in the engine room. Several ships came to assist. The four crew members have been safely brought ashore. One of them has been examined by ambulance personnel in Stellendam for the suspicion of smoke poisoning but did not have to be taken to the hospital. The "Dirkje" was taken in tow by the KNRM lifeboat from Hoek van Holland and pulled to the port of Stellendam. Also units of the KNRM Ouddorp and Stellendam were on scene. The fire brigade of Goeree quickly put out the fire. Nets on deck ablaze
In the morning of July 7 a fire broke out aboard the Dutch f/v "Dirkje . TH 10", 86 gt (IMO: 9001887), in the port of Scheveningen. The fire was remakred by the crew of the"Adriana Mari - TH 7"which was moored alongside. Nets on deck were ablaze, and the flames were threatening the "Adriana MAri" too where the net on port side was already smouldering. The lifeboat "Kitty Rosmale Nepveu"pulled the "TH 10" to another berth. One crew member was saved and treated for smoke inhalation. The fire was under control after about half an hour.
