Four crew members of detained ship repatriated
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced on Mar 3, 2017, that four crew members of the "Temeteron" which had been arrested in Libya on counts of oil smuggling were released. The four were set free on Mar 2 and returned home. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was working on the release of the rest of the crew members from Libya. The "Temetron" was intercepted on June 17, 2016, off the Libyan coast with five Ukrainians, three Russians and one Greek on board.
Tanker detained due to smuggling suspicion
Libyan forces intercepted the "Temeteron" in Al Zawyah Waters. The tanker, being loaded with benzene, was taken to Tripoli on June 29, 2016, and the crew, consisting of Russian, Ukrainian and Greek nationalities, was detained. The tanker was suspected for oil smuggling. It had sailed from Malta on June 28, bound for Zuwarah.
Allision in Perama
In the morning of Feb 7, 2015, the "Temeteron" while approaching the Megatechnika Yard in Perama allided with the Maltese flagged m/y "Madi" in bad weather which was berthed in an adjoining yard. The impact caused a crew member of the yacht to fall over board, but he was recovered without injury. The Piraeus Central Port Authority conducted a preliminary investigatio. The ships were banned from sailing until their seaworthiness was proved.
