Intoxicated Russian master detained for four weeks
The 53-year-old Russian captain of the "Norrvik" has been detained for four weeks. Both the captain and the officer who was at the helm were drunk when the ship ran aground. The captain was in the afternoon of May 30 at the court in Holbæk. At the same hearing, the officer was sentenced to a three-day-arrest. The "Norrvik" berthed at Kyndby on May 30 at 11 p.m. before proceeding to Apenrade. Intoxicated master grounded ship off Kalundborg
In the evening of May 27, 2017, the "Norrvik", coming from ran aground off the port of Kalundborg at the Gisseløre tip. The ship was transiting the fjord at Gisseløre, having sailed from Thyborøn on May 26 at 3.40 p.m. The captain was suspected of having been influenced by alcohol, so blood tests were carried out.
